From Wikipedia:
Ibans are a branch of the Dayak people of Borneos. They are formerly known during the colonial period by the British as Sea Dayaks.
I got this idea from a friend who wrote '5 Things You Need To Know About Texas'.
1. We do not live on trees. You have no idea how many times I've been asked that!
2. We no longer hunt heads or eat human flesh, contrary to popular belief.
3. Yes, we still live in longhouses. Which, by the way, have cabels and cellphone signals. And electricity as well as water supply. We are sooo not that primitive.
4. We only wear our Iban costumes on occassions only, especially during Gawai. And we're damn proud of it. I mean, where can you buy a full set of Iban costume nowadays? They're rare, like museum-rare.
5. Our Iban names are not weird. It's called culture and tradition, okay?
